Outreach Ministry
The family unit, which is unquestionably God's unique design, traditionally has been limited in its participation in programs providing missions and ministry training, and short-term mission outreaches. Therefore, International Family Missions was established to create opportunities for whole families as well as individuals to learn and minister together in the work of the Lord.
IFM presents various means for Christians in most any stage of life and development to serve God and others in some capacity as laborers in His harvest. IFM organizes cross-cultural mission trips ranging from one week to three months. An average outreach is one week, thereby allowing most families and individuals to utilize vacation and other time off for a mission experience at minimal cost.
Outreaches include such things as Bible distribution, evangelism, mercy ministries, and service to other missions and churches. IFM seeks to orient these and other ministries toward building and strengthening personal relationships, while attempting to structure and pace an outreach in ways that enable individuals and family members to participate alongside one another. In this setting adults and children alike enjoy sharing the Good News in the word and deed.
Fruits of the Ministry
The ministries of IFM present unique services to the Christians community with help to equip believers to live fruitful lives as they follow Jesus Christ.
Short-Term Outreach participants will come into direct contact with the blessings, rigors, and opportunities of the mission field. In addition to the personal benefit these Christians and their families receive, churches will profit greatly as they put back into their midst regular everyday members whose lives have been forever changed by first-hand missionary experience. Both adults and children can be a genuine stimulus and inspiration for their home church's ministry in outreach, evangelism, and worldwide missions task of the church.
Christians completing an IFM experience can anticipate a deeper relationship with God, and a greater ability to relate to their own families and other members of the Body of Christ. They also can expect to be better equipped to respond to the world around them in the ministry of reconciliation:
"the fruit of the Spirit is love..."
Outreach and School participants come into contact with many different people in need of Jesus Christ. Those who are reached are blessed as God's Word is proclaimed to their hearts, and as they experience His love through compassionate deeds. Some receive and embrace Jesus as Lord, while others that know Him are strengthened and encouraged.
"...for His Name sake they went forth..."
