The JUST ASK Campaign

IFM has a long history of remarkable answers to prayers when we have humbled ourselves and asked the Lord for specific help. One of our battle cries around here is “Just ask! Just ask!” You know as we do that when we cry out and He responds, our faith grows and our hearts swell with joy experiencing in ‘real time’ His gracious relationship with His children. Choosing to live dependently on the Lord by faith may not be easy on the flesh but it is life for our spirits and it stirs up a hunger within us for more of Him. That very delight and yearning is the seed idea behind this “Just Ask” campaign.

Those of you who have participated with us on outreaches will no doubt agree that one of the greatest joys was that together we looked purposefully for Jesus around every corner, and watched for His “divine appointments” as we were focused on God’s interests above our own. We are trusting for the very same with this campaign.

With the JUST ASK Campaign, we are not just asking you to give towards IFM’s needs, we are asking you to own  IFM’s needs with us. This, in a way, is true intercession in a manner that draws you to trust the Lord far more personally.

THE DETAILS:  By sending IFM a contribution or a written request, we will send you a Just Ask button.  YES!..... a lapel-type button!  You and we will pray each day for opportunities and divine appointments on behalf of God’s interests relative to the ministries of IFM. Then put your button on - in faith! - and head out into your day. Be intentional, watching for the Lord to open doors with your button as the catalyst. When people come across your path and ask, “What does that button mean?”, assume the Lord has orchestrated the question and freely tell them about IFM and the situation in Juarez. You could mention a particular need you have adopted, and ask if they would be willing to contribute towards the ministry.  As an open-ended campaign, the button can be worn at any time and for an extended period of time.

A RESOURCE:  We will be listing various areas of specific and ongoing needs which can be adopted by you and those whom you ask to help. (Click on the "projects" tab to view these specific needs.) From time to time, we will show the progress of each area and how the fundraising efforts are progressing. (Click on the "progress" tab to see how we are doing.) This way, you can watch with us and join in as we trust God to meet our needs.  We will also have various ideas on how you might phrase your response when people ask about the button in case that would help you.  In a way, the button idea is very childlike - in no way sophisticated or slick - and hopefully humble enough to bear great fruit!  We only need to be bold enough to actually wear it … in faith!

We are urging you to genuinely consider doing this with us.  We have seen the principle tested with an outreach participant who wore an ”Hola Amigo” button to raise funds for his outreach team to Juarez with IFM.  He asked the Lord to send people to ask about his button. He raised a significant amount for that trip through that little button.  His effort is the inspiration for the IFM Just Ask Campaign!

We are hoping you will become so involved in partnering with us that the effort becomes something in which you are trusting the Lord as one who is every bit as dependent on the outcome as are we.  Additionally, you will be asking with a motive which has nothing to do with your own interests but the interests of the Kingdom of God. This is a venture in which you can exercise faith without doubting …..

….. “But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.  Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”   Luke 12:31-33 (KJV)
