Agua Viva Testimony

This week I have had the privilege of co-leading another outreach. It has been an amazing week so far. Today we went to Agua Viva to encourage and be encouraged in the Lord. We went to their pre-lunch chapel service (one of four per day), shared a delicious lunch with them, after which we hung out together. What a blessing to fellowship with a group of men who are genuinely and acutely aware of their prior lostness and then their being found by the Savior.

As we were leaving I was talking with Benito who speaks English. He lowered his voice and said, "You know, when I first came here I had nothing except the clothes on my back. I had no soap, no toothbrush or toothpaste. I brushed my teeth with my finger for a short time. It was degrading. One day in one of the chapel services I was wondering how I could have come into such a lowly state. But then, it struck me how the Creator of the Universe left Heaven to this filthy, puny world for my sake." As he told me this the tears began to run down his face and he continued, "I realized that I had nothing to complain about. In fact, I am richer than the richest man in the world since I have Jesus." He smiled broadly and said, "And then, after the chapel service, someone gave me a bar of soap, another brother gave me a toothbrush, and a third gave me some toothpaste. And I hadn't even asked anyone! Truly my Father loves me and cares for even the smallest things!"
